Finding others to play with can be one of the most difficult things about being a young musician. This is why Music Royale introduced Rock School. This nine week program groups students of similar age and musical interest and lets them learn what it's like to be in a real band.
The Rock School sessions start quarterly throughout the year and always culminate with a live performance by all the bands. Not only do the students get the experience of playing a live gig, but all of their accomplishments are recorded onto a professional quality DVD.
Rock school is not reserved for rock music. Students have formed a variety of bands under the guidance of this program, including jazz and blues groups. Every student of Music Royale is eligible to participate regardless of what instrument they play. The object is to teach young musicians teamwork and let them experiment with different styles of music in a setting where they are in charge. Our instructors help get the students focused and help get them started. From there, it's all about the band. The students work together to come up with the songs they would like to play and even choose their own name!
