Matt Venus
Matt has been playing professionally since the age of 16 and has been in many Columbus area bands, including Donna Mogavero, STAN, and Stop Drop And Roll. Matt began teaching professionally at the age of 17 at Pontones Music in Grove City, Ohio and has since moved on to teach for many local music stores including K.R.A. Music, Sawmill Music, Sam Ash, and Studio One in Circleville, Ohio. Matt has taught in both private and group settings.
While Matt can tailor lessons to meet the specific needs of each student, he typically divides the lesson time into two parts. The first half of the lesson is used primarily for the study of rudiments and other essential skills and the latter half can be used to accommodate each student's special interest. Matt places heavy emphasis on learning songs through to completion and offer programs and incentives to help each student achieve their own personal goals.
