Jim Seitz
Jim Seitz keeps a busy schedule as a performer, educator and woodwind repair specialist. A tireless student of woodwinds and their history, Jim has achieved high standards of both fine performance and thoughtful teaching. His broad knowledge and understanding of the woodwind family give Jim unique insights into the challenges new students must undertake. Through personal experience as a student of flute, clarinet, saxophone, and bassoon he has found solutions to many common faults among beginning players.
Educated at the Capital University Conservatory of Music, Jim has had the benefit of studying with great musicians whose teachings still influence him in countless ways. He gratefully acknowledges the talents of Prof. Jim Carroll, Dr. Rocky Reuter, Prof. Stan Smith, Dr. Timothy Swinehart, Prof. Vaughn Weister, and his friend and mentor Al Goelz. Jim is especially thankful for his time as a student of Steve Genteline (Cols. Jazz Orchestra) whose encouragement and guidance led him to first consider a career in music. Jim performs with Honk, Wail and Moan, Soul Kitch'n and The Mighty Quinn.
