April Minor
April Minor began studying piano at age eight and has shown a passion for music and music study ever since. April performed for many years in the National Piano Playing Auditions for the National Guild of Piano Teachers. As a freshman, she was chosen to be the accompanist for the symphonic choir at nearby Olentangy Liberty High School and performed in this capacity for her entire four years. In addition to performances at Liberty, she also played at local, state, and international contests. She has performed as a vocal accompanist and as a solo artist, and she is currently finishing her first major composition.
In 2007, April had the opportunity to play for the Governor of Ohio. April is a junior at The Ohio State University, studying Early Childhood Education and Music. She has had extensive experience working with children. In addition to instructing piano, April has worked as a child care provider, pre-school teacher, and as a teacher's aid in a first grade classroom. Through the perspective of this experience, she has created a fun, interesting, and effective teaching style ideal for younger students. |
