Adam Koltnow
Adam Koltnow has been playing guitar for 15 years covering a wide variety of styles
and projects. While attending OSU he was a member of the band Thursday Night Caller
and after graduation wrote, performed, and released an alternative rock solo album
on the Studio Records label. More recently he played with the 12-piece funk outfit
Secret Soul covering a wide variety of classic 60's and 70's, funk, and R&B.
Currently he is playing with and is the primary songwriter for the Latin influenced
jazz and funk band Deep Blue Groove, which he co-founded in 2002. The band played
a wide variety of gigs in 2004 ranging from the Race for a Cure benefit at Polaris
to the Gahanna Creekside Festival and Columbus Jazz and Ribs Festival. Adam's primary
goal as a teacher is for each student, regardless of age or skill level, to appreciate
all types of music as well as experience the personal satisfaction of learning and
ultimately improving their own playing.
