Jim Curlis
Jim Curlis has been playing drums since the age of 10. After attending Ohio State University, where he won awards playing with The OSU Jazz Ensemble, Jim went on to teach jazz at Capital University for three years. He then returned to The OSU Music Department, where he taught percussion technique for 13 years. Mr. Curlis has a broad range of musical experience, performing in symphonies and for rodeos. He was a member of Columbus Jazz Orchestra for 8 years, performed with Kenley Players Theater, and with such entertainers as Bob Hope, Red Skelton, Joan Rivers, Perry Como, and Michele Legrande, and such jazz notables as Tom Scott, Bill Waltrous, Joe Williams, and the Brecker Brothers.

Jim teaches all styles of the drum set, as well as rudimental snare drum, concert snare drum, and mallet percussion.
